SUMMARY:Montana Homesteaders Conference
DESCRIPTION:What is The Montana Homesteaders Festival? \n \nIt is a 2-day event held in Western Montana June 20 & 21 2025 at the beautiful Sanders County Fairgrounds located in Plains Montana which is part of the Lolo National Forest. The Salish Tribe called this area Wild Horse Plains as they would winter their horses in this valley on the beautiful native grasses. \n \nWe are 9 hours from Yellowstone National Park\, 5 1/2 hours from Glacier National Park and 1 hour from Flathead Lake which is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. 40 minutes from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Bison Range. \n \nThe Montana Homesteaders Festival is dedicated to the celebration of the bounty of Montana’s homesteaders\, small/medium farms and ranches.  It is all about promoting the latest knowledge based information solely on clean agricultural practices while maintaining sustainable regenerative rural living WITHOUT the use of chemical fertilizers\, herbicides\, pesticides and GMO’s. \n\nMontanan’s are an exceptionally tough breed that face challenging growing conditions that are just part of the way we live here in the Northern tier state. Winters are long and harsh and growing seasons are short. We are the 4th largest state being 630 miles across with 4 different hardiness growing zones of  3\, 4\, 5 & 6. The western portion of Montana is mountainous while the eastern section is prairie land. The state is split in two parts by the Continental Divide\, each with its own diverse weather patterns and an average growing season of approximately 95 days which is dependent on where you live. \n \nWe want to celebrate our Montana community through ongoing education of new and old ideas and helping each other through trials and errors that some of us already have experienced. We will gather together to lift each other up through support\, experience and teaching. You decide what is a good fit for you and your family. \n \nIf you are wanting a slower\, peaceful & joyful lifestyle in a little rural piece of heaven we invite you to join us at the 2025 Montana Homesteaders Festival.  If you are new to homesteading or striving to have a self-sufficient lifestyle already\, or you are living the life of providing as much as possible on your own homestead\, you have come to the right place….you have found your Montana FAMILY that will nourish you\, encourage you\, help you and provide loving wisdom. \n \nWe look forward to meeting everyone!!
