Autumn on the Homestead combines agriculture, science, history, math, literature, arts, and hands-on activities into 12 weeks of seasonal learning for ages 5-12.
This isn’t another book of busywork activities.
Children explore agriculture, nature, food, history, science, math, reading, writing, critical thinking, and practical skills through the changing seasons. They’ll discover why leaves fall, how animals stay healthy, where food comes from, how people preserved harvests, why soil matters, how tools work, and what previous generations knew.
Seasonal learning naturally crosses subjects. A single lesson can include science, history, math, reading, and a hands-on skill — all without artificially separating learning into little boxes. That’s why this series works beautifully as a unit study, supplemental curriculum, or enrichment.

In Seasons on the Homestead, students will explore hands-on, real-life lessons that connect them to the natural world and self-sufficient living. Each themed week teaches foundational homestead skills through daily activities in science, nature studies, math, critical thinking, and character development.
Students will learn how to care for animals, grow and preserve food, understand soil and pollination, build tools and fences, manage water wisely, and more—all while developing a deep appreciation for where food comes from and how to work with the land. It’s practical, engaging, and full of opportunities to grow capable, confident kids.

These books are best suited for students aged 5-12.
Yes these books are able to be completed independently by older children, but these books also work well in a group setting or with family learning.
No, you do not need to homeschool your children to utilize these books. They are a great complement to traditional schooling as well.
All of the books are written neutrally. However, the quality of character and respect for the land are highly prioritized.
